For our latest JDL Stories we teamed up with Hip Hop artist @tarickcph from the record label @affiliatedcph -> He's well on his way to establishing himself as a solid artist on the Danish Hip Hop scene and we are inspired by his extraordinary ability to seize his audience with a captivating presence, both on and off the stage. ⠀ Tarick flows between heavy, bouncy Hip Hop bangers and more laid back electronic tunes, always in perfect harmony with the leading vocal.

Listen to his single AKUSO ft. @silhouettecph and see him wearing his favourite AW2020 pieces.

Tarick s a thinker — His reflective lyrics are delivered in a soft fusion of rap and song and although categorized as a Hip Hop artist, his style can’t be defined based on one genre, as he is highly inspired by Jazz, Soul and RnB.

-- ZONING --

What does it mean for me to be in the zone?

Watch the JDL stories video to get an unique insight into his creative process, thoughts and flow.

Tarick keeps his culture and descent relevant in his music by experimenting with rhythms and melodies from, among others, Dancehall and Reggaeton.

Tarick grew up in the centre of Copenhagen, but is originally from Dar Es Salaam in Tanzania. At the age of 17, Tarick became the frontman and vocalist in an alternative Jazz/Hip Hop band, which provided him with a solid musical foundation and useful experiences.
His current musical style merges auto-tune vocals with East African instruments and Afrotrap percussion, creating a vibrant and dynamic sound image.

Tarick is wearing the Bordeux Suit and Merino wool turtle neck at the renowned Music Club "Operaen Christiania".
