HERITAGE

Originally founded in 1986 in Aarhus, Denmark, JUNK de LUXE gained significant national attention and popularity due to a simple product portfolio of vintage Levi’s 501 jeans and French Art Deco lamps.

JUNK de LUXE now combines the versatility of streetwear with sartorial tailoring. We aim to construct a link between these stylistic contradictions, providing a well-balanced and unique identity. We conceptualise this balance as Street Tailoring.

Our design is rooted in the best from the past but is always pointing forward – this is Street Tailoring!

DESIGN CONCEPT

JUNK de LUXE twists the classic and timeless design of vintage garments through a fashion forward framework.

The aim is to create a style suitable for multiple occasions but always providing a distinguished edge. We describe this interplay of mutually exclusive stylistic dimensions as Street Tailoring.

Street Tailoring is an artistic grasp used to frame the youthful defiance of streetwear with the classic touch of sartorial tailoring. We create contemporary yet timeless garments – a contradiction that encapsulates our core identity. We place high value in providing the ideal cuts and details to each and every piece of garment.

QUALITY, DESIGN & CRAFTMANSHIP

All of our four annual collections are built on the premise of quality, design and craftmanship. We want to provide a well-balanced identity and offer products that break the conformity of fashion. Each piece in the collection is unique and draws upon our heritage in providing a one of a kind product.

In addition to our four seasonal collections, we provide a Never-Out-Of-Stock programme. These NOOS products are handpicked and represent the core of the JUNK de LUXE universe. The products provide a foundation for all of our collections, and offer a framework to the raw atittude of Street Tailoring.

SIGNATURE DETAILS

Throughout the collection there are different details in the shape of a triangle. This is the celebration of the Levi’s signature diamond ‘accurate’ back pocket stitch.

JUNK de LUXE started out selling vintage jeans, and the detail is therefore not only a celebration of the signature of a classic, but also a testimony to our own heritage.

The triangle detail is found on the gussets of the shirt, as a detail stitching on jeans and jackets, cutlines on a variety of garment groups, the triangular shaped inner details of tailored blazers, and lastly the triangular shaped crown logo.

SUSTAINABILITY

When founded in 1986, JUNK de LUXE presented a simple product portfolio of vintage Levi’s 501 jeans and French Art Deco lamps. Our heritage is based on recycling 2nd hand clothing and dealing with antiques. We strive to let our history frame our actions of today.

We have acknowledged the severe effects the fashion industry has had on the environment. We now strive to utilise new technologies – enabling us to create beautiful and authentic garments without compromising the well being of the environment. We want to plant a seed to benefit our future generations, which means changing the conventional ways one step at the time.

In each collection we offer garments in sustainable materials. This is a testimony to our goal of breaking the confines of conventional production processes. We see this as the first steps in our march for a better tomorrow!

SUSTAINABLE WASH

With the Sustainable Wash treatment, we collaborate with our denim supplier to open a door for an innovative way to produce authentic looking washed indigo denim pieces. The distinct look of our denim products is achieved through the use of laser and ozone technology.

The contrasts of the whiskers, the richness and depth to the colour is achieved through this unique washing process.

In doing so, no pumice stones or toxic chemicals have been a part of the washing process. The Sustainable Wash treatment reduces the consumption of water by at least 50%, while still achieving the beautiful abrasions and contrasts that reveal the true beauty of indigo denim.
